The collection of the Municipal Gallery was founded in 1976 by donations from Greek artists who responded to the initiative of Dinos Katsafanas, the first elected mayor of Nikaia during the post-revolutionary period, with the aim of promoting the cultural development of the city.

The Katrakio Theatre is the largest modern theatre in the country, with a capacity of 5,356 seats. It is located in Nikaia, on the Andreas Papandreou Hill, also known as “Selepitsari”, in an area of 500 acres. It was built in 1983 among the rocks of old quarries in the area.

The Garden Theater of Nikaia is located within the Municipal Garden in the city center, at the intersection of Kyprou and Prousis Streets. Since the Interwar period, this area was included in the large-scale expropriation of 1927.
